The Canadian International Communications Program, a program for improving international communication respecting the Canadian oil, gas and petrochemical industries, was undertaken in mid 2001.

The program was developed with support from the federal and provincial governments and the Canadian Association for the WPC. It drew wide participation from a cross section of industry associations and companies which provided data, photographs, and other illustrations and was directed especially towards development of an interactive multimedia presentation. Special technical support was provided by Nexen Inc., a Canadian oil, gas and petrochemical company and EnCana Inc., a large Canadian oil and gas producing and pipelines company.

The resulting CD Rom was featured at Canadian booths at the 17th World Petroleum Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2002 and in an updated format, at other conferences and exhibitions including the Annual Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, U.S.A. and, in 2005 at the 18th WPC in Johannesburg, SA. The presentation includes information on the Canadian petroleum industry, its innovations, and the services and products it offers and support services provided by the government sector. The presentation will be updated regularly.
