Joanna Desjardins is a Professional Engineer, currently a manager in Mergers & Acquisitions, specializing in the Energy, Resources and Industrials sector at Deloitte Consulting.  Her focus is on international multi-billion-dollar integrations and separations.

Prior to consulting, Joanna worked in industry for 16 years, and lead multiple large-scale projects for Acquisitions, Divestments, Joint Industry projects, and investments. Joanna started her career in M&A with the ConocoPhillips transfer of $17 billion in Canada. After the transaction, Joanna joined the Cenovus team in Calgary, Alberta. Previous to this, she held positions in subsurface and operations engineering, major projects, corporate planning and coordination for Global Wells, based in Houston.

Joanna was appointed to the Executive Committee of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) in 2017 and remains as an officer on the Board. She sits on the National Committee for WPC Canada and was previously Chair of the 4th WPC Youth Forum, hosted in Calgary in 2013.

Joanna holds a Finance MBA from the Haskayne School of Business, as well a Mechanical Engineering degree with a Petroleum minor from the Schulich School of Engineering.
