With a new U.S administration in place, WPC Energy Canada hosted an expert panel on April 17, 2025, discussing tariffs impacting the Canadian oil and gas and the broader economy. Additional ideas were explored around the potential for reduced demand, higher costs for producers and consumers, and economic slowdowns.
The panel featured some of Canada’s premier energy policy minds including the Honourable John Baird who is the former Foreign Affairs Minister of Canada, Eric Nuttall from Ninepoint Partners, Martha Hall Findlay, current Director and Palmer Chair in Public Policy at the School of Public Policy University of Calgary; member of the Expert Group on Canada-U.S. Relations, and Lisa Baiton from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.
