Next year’s World Petroleum Council’s Future Leaders Forum will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in conjunction with Rio Oil & Gas 2016 – the biggest trade show in Latin America. With the second largest municipal GDP in the country, and the 30th largest in the world (2008,) Rio de Janeiro is headquarters to numerous Brazilian oil, mining, and telecommunications companies, and is the second-largest center of research and development in the country.
Host city of the games of the XXXI Olympiad in 2016, Rio de Janeiro is one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in the Southern Hemisphere and renowned for its annual Carnival, famous beaches such as Copacabana and Ipanema, and one of the world’s largest football stadiums.
